Avrocid is an antacid medication that combines a protective, antacid, and deflatulent action. It contains Activated Methylpolysiloxane, Magnesium Hydroxide, and Dried Aluminium Hydroxide Gel.
Avrocid is used for: Peptic ulcers, Dyspepsia, Heartburn (including heartburn in pregnancy), Gastrointestinal flatulence and discomfort, Reflux oesophagitis and gastritis
Activated Methylpolysiloxane (deflatulent): Breaks down gas bubbles in the stomach, allowing them to be expelled easily by belching. Magnesium Hydroxide and Aluminium Hydroxide (antacids): Neutralize stomach acid, preventing damage to the stomach lining. Aluminium Hydroxide also helps protect the stomach lining from irritation caused by gastric acid.
Adults: 10ml 3-4 times daily or 1-2 tablets (to be chewed) 4 times daily. Children (6-12 years): 5ml 3 times daily or half tablet (to be chewed) 3-4 times daily. Take between meals and at bedtime. Do not exceed 90ml (10 tablets) in a 24-hour period. Shake the bottle before use.
Mild and transient: Constipation, diarrhoea, vomiting (mainly in individuals intolerant to Aluminium Hydroxide). If any side effects become serious or unusual, stop using the medication and consult a doctor immediately.
Allergy: If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Avrocid. Age: Children under 6 years old (unless directed by a doctor). Other Conditions: If you have any of the following, consult your doctor before taking Avrocid: Prone to constipation or appendicitis, Kidney disease, Hypophosphataemia (low phosphate in the blood), Bone disease
Contact your doctor immediately if you take too much Avrocid.
Possible reactions may occur. If you are using other oral medications, take Avrocid 1 to 2 hours before or after the other medication(s).
Store below 30°C. Protect from light. Keep tightly closed. Do not use after the expiry date.
