Cypri Gold is used for the relief of allergy symptoms, including rhinitis and urticaria. It is also used to provide relief from migraine or cerebral headaches.
Each Cypri Gold caplet contains 4 mg of Cyproheptadine Hydrochloride (anhydrous).
The most common side effect is drowsiness. Other less common side effects include nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, and dizziness.
The recommended dose for adults is one caplet twice daily, taken after meals.
Children aged 10-15 years: One caplet daily after meals. Children aged 6-10 years: Half a caplet daily after meals. Children under 6 years: Cypri Gold Syrup is recommended. Consult a doctor for the appropriate dosage.
Cypri Gold is contraindicated in patients with glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, urinary retention, acute asthma, stenosing peptic ulcer, elderly debilitated patients, and lactating mothers. It is also contraindicated in individuals allergic to cyproheptadine.
Store Cypri Gold at a temperature below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
Cyproheptadine is a 5-HT antagonist (serotonin antagonist). It also has mild anticholinergic and sedative properties.
Individuals taking Cypri Gold should avoid driving vehicles or operating machinery that requires alertness if they experience drowsiness.
Cypri Gold caplets are available in packs of 30 (3 x 10 caplets). A syrup formulation is also available in 100 ml and 200 ml bottles.
