Novo Gold is cyproheptadine hydrochloride, an antihistamine used for allergies (dermatitis, hay fever, allergic conjunctivitis), certain vascular headaches (migraines), and as adjunctive therapy for anaphylaxis after acute symptoms are controlled.

4 mg tablets in blisters of 10, with a pack size of 30 (3 x 10).
Adults: 12-16 mg daily (up to 32 mg), starting with 4 mg three times a day or 8 mg twice a day. Children (7-14 years): 4 mg two or three times a day (up to 16 mg). Children (2-7 years): 2 mg three times a day (up to 12 mg). Children under 2 years: No recommended dosage.
4 mg initially, repeatable in 1 hour (max 8 mg in 4-6 hours). Maintenance: 4 mg every 4-6 hours.
Newborns/premature infants, nursing mothers, hypersensitivity to cyproheptadine, MAOI users, angle-closure glaucoma, stenosing peptic ulcer, symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy, bladder neck obstruction, pyloroduodenal obstruction, elderly/debilitated patients, and acute asthma attacks.
Caution in children under 2, pregnancy, activities requiring alertness, elderly patients, prolonged therapy, and patients with asthma, increased intraocular pressure, hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular disease, or hypertension.
Drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, hypotension, palpitations, rare blood disorders, dry mouth, nausea, rash, itching, urinary frequency/retention, dry nose/throat, wheezing, fatigue, chills, and headache.
MAO inhibitors and CNS depressants (alcohol, sedatives, tranquilizers).
Induce vomiting (syrup of ipecac) if conscious. If not, gastric lavage with isotonic/isotonic saline followed by activated charcoal. Intravenous physostigmine salicylate for life-threatening CNS signs. Saline cathartics and vasopressors may be used. Avoid stimulants.
