Oraxin Syrup is a non-hormonal tonic used to stimulate appetite and promote weight gain. It's used for loss of appetite, weight loss, anorexia nervosa, and as a supplement to anti-tubercular and antiretroviral treatments.

Cyproheptadine blocks serotonin's effect on the satiety center in the brain, stimulating appetite. Lysine contributes to growth, and peptone provides amino acids.
Children below 3 years: 2.5 ml twice daily. Children 4-7 years: 2.5 ml three times daily. Children 7-14 years: 5 ml three times daily. Adults: 10 ml three times daily.
Sedation, dizziness, difficulty with coordination, confusion, restlessness, skin rash, hives, blurred vision, double vision, vertigo, ringing in the ears, low blood pressure, palpitations, rapid heart rate, dry mouth, anorexia, diarrhea, constipation, difficulty urinating, dry nose and throat, and thickening of bronchial secretions.
Newborn or premature infants, nursing mothers, individuals with hypersensitivity to its ingredients, and people with angle-closure glaucoma, stenosing peptic ulcer, symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy, bladder neck obstruction, or pyloroduodenal obstruction.
Use with caution in patients with bronchial asthma, increased intraocular pressure, hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular disease, and hypertension. Be aware of potential impaired mental alertness or excitation in young children. Elderly patients are more susceptible to side effects.
Induce vomiting, or if not possible, perform gastric lavage followed by activated charcoal. Vasopressors may be used for hypotension, and physostigmine for CNS symptoms.
Avoid concurrent use with MAO inhibitors. Additive effects can occur with alcohol and CNS depressants.
Store in a dark place at 15-30°C, out of reach of children.
