You are allergic to levonorgestrel or any of the other ingredients in the medicine. You are pregnant or think you may be pregnant. You have a disease of your small bowel (like Crohn's disease) that affects absorption of medicines. You have severe liver problems. You have a history of ectopic pregnancy. You have a history of salpingitis (inflammation of the fallopian tubes).
It's not a regular contraceptive method: Postinor-2 is only for emergency contraception. Effectiveness varies: It is less effective the longer you wait after unprotected sex and might be less effective with increasing body weight or BMI. Other medicines can interfere: Certain medicines can interfere with Postinor-2's effectiveness. Not an abortion pill: Postinor-2 cannot terminate a pregnancy. If you are already pregnant, it will not work. Talk to your doctor: Consult your doctor if you have any concerns about using Postinor-2, especially if you have any of the conditions listed in the "Do not take Postinor 2" section.

Take BOTH tablets at the same time as soon as possible after unprotected sex. Ideally, take it within 12 hours, but no later than 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex. Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not delay taking the tablets.
Contact your doctor or a family planning clinic immediately. You may need to take another dose.
Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking Postinor-2. They may advise you to take the tablet immediately after a feed and to avoid nursing for at least 8 hours following tablet taking.
While it is not recommended, you can use Postinor-2 more than once in a cycle. However, its effectiveness decreases, and it is more likely to disrupt your menstrual cycle. Using Postinor-2 frequently is not a substitute for regular contraception.
It is thought to work by: Preventing the release of an egg from the ovaries. Preventing sperm from fertilizing an egg that has already been released.
Schedule a follow-up appointment with your doctor about three weeks after taking Postinor-2 to ensure it worked. If your period is more than 5 days late or is unusually light or heavy, contact your doctor immediately. Consider long-term methods of contraception if you need to use Postinor-2 repeatedly.
Store below 30°C in the original package to protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
