Tarivid is a quinolone antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections in adults.
Swallow Tarivid tablets whole with plenty of liquid, with or without food. Dosage varies but is typically two tablets daily. Follow your doctor's instructions.
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, skin reactions, headache, dizziness, and sleep disturbances. More serious side effects include tendon inflammation or rupture, nerve damage, seizures, severe diarrhea, and allergic reactions.
Those allergic to ofloxacin or other quinolones, individuals with epilepsy or seizure disorders, those with prior tendon problems after taking quinolones, children and adolescents, and pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Inform your doctor about all other medications, avoid prolonged sun exposure, report severe diarrhea, be aware of potential tendon pain, and monitor blood sugar if you have diabetes.
Out of sight and reach of children, below 30°C (86°F), and not after the expiry date.
Tarivid can cause tendon inflammation or rupture, particularly the Achilles tendon. Stop taking Tarivid and contact your doctor at the first sign of tendon pain.
