Fungusol 2% cream contains Miconazole Nitrate B.P. 2% w/w as its active ingredient.
Miconazole Nitrate is an antifungal agent that works by interfering with the cell membrane of fungi. It inhibits the production of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This disrupts the cell membrane's integrity, leading to fungal cell death.
Fungusol is effective against various fungal infections, including: * Tinea pedis (athlete's foot) * Tinea corporis (ringworm) * Cutaneous candidiasis (yeast infection) * Tinea versicolor * Onychomycosis (fungal nail infection) * Vaginal candidiasis (yeast infection)
For tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea corporis, and cutaneous candidiasis, apply Fungusol cream twice daily (morning and evening) to the affected area. For Tinea versicolor, use it once daily.
Continue treatment for two weeks after symptoms have subsided for tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis. For Candida infections, treatment should continue for one month to minimize the risk of re-occurrence.
While generally safe for most individuals, some may experience local irritation or allergic contact dermatitis. If any sensitivity or irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately.
* Do not use Fungusol after the expiry date indicated on the package. * Store it below 30°C and out of reach of children. * Keep the container tightly closed.
Fungusol 2% cream is available in a lacquered plastic tube containing 20g of cream.
