Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)
Inhibits cyclooxygenase enzyme, reducing prostaglandin production
Rapidly and completely absorbed after oral administration, undergoes significant first-pass metabolism
Metabolized in the liver, excreted in urine and bile
Nausea, vomiting, epigastric discomfort, skin rash, peptic ulcer, fluid retention, edema, impaired hepatic function
Individuals with GI bleeding, active peptic ulcer, NSAID-induced allergic asthma, last trimester of pregnancy
Caution in individuals with impaired hepatic, renal, or cardiac function, avoid use in children and individuals with blood coagulation disorders, use with caution in individuals with recent GI disorders
Store in a dry place below 30°C, protected from light and moisture
Management of pain and primary dysmenorrhea
Starting dose is typically 50mg three times a day, dosage can be adjusted based on individual needs
Lithium & Digoxin, Diuretics, Methotrexate, Salicylates, Cyclosporine, Hydantoins
