Ibupain Suspension is an over-the-counter medication containing Ibuprofen 100mg/5ml for babies and children. It is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) with analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Ibupain Suspension is used for: * Symptomatic relief of pain and fever, including fever caused by immunization. * Relief of pain from upper respiratory tract infections like influenza, bronchitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, etc. * Relief of pain from toothache, earache, sore throat, headache, and other minor aches and sprains.
Common side effects include: * Mild laxative effect * Stomach discomfort Rare side effects may include: * Nausea * Stomach pain * Rash * Itching * Worsening of asthma * Unexplained wheezing or shortness of breath
Ibupain Suspension should not be used in the following cases: * Hypersensitivity to Ibuprofen or other ingredients. * Previous hypersensitivity reactions (e.g., asthma, rhinitis, angioedema, or urticaria) to aspirin or other NSAIDs. * Active or previous peptic ulcer. * History of upper gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAIDs therapy. * Concomitant use of NSAIDs including cyclo-oxygenase-2 specific inhibitors. * Severe hepatic failure, renal failure, or heart failure.
Ibupain Suspension is taken orally. Dosage is as follows: * **For Pain and Fever:** 20mg/kg/day in divided doses. * **Infants (3-6 MONTHS):** 2.5ml, if necessary, give further 2.5ml after 6 hours. Do not exceed 5ml in 24 hours. * **Infants (6-12 Months):** 2.5ml three to four times in 24 hours. * **Children (1-3 Years):** 5ml three times in 24 hours. * **Children (4-6 Years):** 7.5ml three times in 24 hours. * **Children (7-9 Years):** 10ml three times in 24 hours.
Store Ibupain Suspension below 30°C, away from light, and out of reach of children. Use before the date on the label or carton.
