What is Lofnac Plus and what is it used for?

Lofnac Plus is a combination tablet containing Diclofenac Sodium (50mg) and Paracetamol (500mg). It is indicated for the treatment of various painful conditions including rheumatic disorders, musculoskeletal disorders, pain and inflammation associated with surgical procedures, and relief of pain and inflammation associated with menstrual periods.

How does Lofnac Plus work?

Lofnac Plus works by combining the actions of Diclofenac Sodium, an NSAID that inhibits prostaglandin production, and Paracetamol, a pain reliever and fever reducer that also inhibits prostaglandin production.

How is Lofnac Plus administered and what is the dosage?

Adults: 1 tablet 2-3 times daily. Children: 1/4 to 1/2 tablet 2-3 times daily, or as directed by a physician.

Common side effects include redness of rectal mucous membranes, allergic reactions, skin rash, hives, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, gas, nausea, vomiting, headaches, dizziness, increased bleeding time, itching, rashes, tinnitus, fever, increased sweating, blurred vision, bladder inflammation, painful urination, blood in urine, kidney inflammation, abnormal urine production, protein in urine, and renal failure. Serious side effects include liver damage, bleeding/perforation, abnormal renal function, anemia, swelling, elevated liver enzymes, infection, sepsis, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, rapid heart rate, fainting, dry mouth, esophagitis, gastric/peptic ulcers, gastritis, gastrointestinal bleeding, glossitis, vomiting blood, hepatitis, jaundice, bruising, increased eosinophils in the blood, low white blood cell count, dark, tarry stools, rectal bleeding, stomatitis, low platelet count, anxiety, weakness, confusion, depression, dream abnormalities, drowsiness, insomnia, general discomfort, nervousness, numbness or tingling, sleepiness, tremors, dizziness, asthma, difficulty breathing, hair loss, and increased sensitivity to sunlight.

What are the contraindications of Lofnac Plus?

Lofnac Plus is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation and active or recent history of peptic ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding.
