Olfen-50 is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) containing 50mg of diclofenac sodium. It works by reducing inflammation and pain.
Various conditions like osteoarthritis, gout attacks, back and neck pain, soft-tissue rheumatism, post-injury and post-surgery pain, gynecological pain, and acute infections.
If you are allergic to diclofenac, have a history of NSAID allergies, are in the last trimester of pregnancy, have active ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, severe liver or kidney problems, severe heart failure, or are receiving pain treatment after coronary artery bypass surgery.
Only during pregnancy after consulting your doctor, not in the last trimester. Not recommended during breastfeeding unless specifically allowed by your doctor.
Dosage is determined by your doctor based on your condition, age, and symptom severity. Adults typically take 100-150mg daily, children 0.5-2mg/kg body weight per day, divided into doses. Do not exceed the prescribed dose. Take tablets with plenty of liquid before meals.
Common side effects include headache, dizziness, nausea, stomach discomfort, rash, fluid accumulation, and changes in liver function. Uncommon effects include chest pain, shortness of breath, hypersensitivity reactions, and asthma. Rare effects include blood count changes, bleeding, liver problems, psychiatric problems, and skin reactions. Very rare effects include serious skin reactions, vision impairment, hair loss, kidney problems, and blood in urine.
Be aware of gastrointestinal risks (ulcers, bleeding), cardiovascular risks (heart attack, stroke), kidney function, liver function, driving and using machines, interactions with other medicines, and allergic reactions.
Stop taking Olfen-50 and contact your doctor immediately if you have serious or persistent side effects.
