Osteo 50 mg is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) containing Diclofenac Potassium. It is used to manage pain and primary dysmenorrhea (painful periods) when prompt pain relief is desired.

Diclofenac inhibits cyclooxygenase, an enzyme involved in the production of prostaglandins which cause pain, inflammation, and fever. It also reduces the concentration of arachidonic acid, another inflammatory mediator.
Analgesic effect: About 1 hour. Antirheumatic effect: Around 2 weeks.
Up to 12 hours.
Orally, usually 50 mg three times a day. Some patients may benefit from an initial dose of 100 mg followed by 50 mg doses.
Common side effects: Nausea, vomiting, epigastric discomfort, skin rashes. Less common side effects: Peptic ulcer, fluid retention, edema, impairment of hepatic function (rarely).
Patients with GI bleeding, active peptic ulcer, or NSAID induced allergic asthma.
Yes. Use with caution in patients with impaired hepatic, renal, or cardiac function, children, blood coagulation disorders, recent proctitis, or GI disorders.
Contraindicated in the last trimester of pregnancy.
Use with caution during lactation.
Elderly patients may need a reduced dosage.
Yes, it can interact with Lithium & Digoxin, Diuretics, Methotrexate, Salicylates, Cyclosporine, and Hydantoins.
Store below 30°C, protected from light.
