Bondomet contains methyldopa, which lowers blood pressure by reducing activity of certain neurotransmitters in the central nervous system.

Active hepatic disease, liver disorders previously associated with methyldopa therapy, hypersensitivity to any component, concurrent use of MAO inhibitors.

Fever, rash, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, jaundice, depression, stuffy nose, A.V. conduction disorders, edema, weight gain, postural hypotension, bradycardia, gynecomastia, galactorrhea, arthralgia, myalgia, eczematonus rash, leucopenia, hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, granulocytopenia.
What are the potential risks associated with Bondomet?
Positive Coombs test, hemolytic anemia, liver disorders, potentially leading to fatal complications.
What should I do if I overdose on Bondomet?
Seek immediate medical attention. Gastric lavage or emesis may be performed. Management includes monitoring cardiac rate and output, blood volume, electrolyte balance, urinary function, and cerebral activity. Sympathomimetic drugs may be indicated. Methyldopa is dialyzable.
How should Bondomet be taken?
Usual starting dosage is 250 mg two or three times daily for the first 48 hours. Dosage may be adjusted. Usual daily dosage is 500 mg to 2 g in two to four doses, with a maximum of 3 g per day.
How is Bondomet supplied?
Bondomet tablets are supplied in blister packs of 10x10. Each tablet is yellow, round, biconvex, film-coated, and embossed with "BDOMET" and a "BONDLOGO."
