What is Eproxen and what are its components? ​

Eproxen is a combination drug containing Naproxen (an NSAID) and Esomeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor).

What conditions is Eproxen indicated for? ​

Eproxen is used to:

  • Relieve osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis symptoms.
  • Reduce gastric ulcer risk in patients at risk from NSAID use.

How is Eproxen administered and what is the dosage? ​

Take Eproxen at least 30 minutes before meals. The standard dosage is one tablet twice daily, available in two strengths:

  • 375 mg Naproxen + 20 mg Esomeprazole
  • 500 mg Naproxen + 20 mg Esomeprazole

What are the precautions associated with Eproxen use? ​

Use Eproxen with caution in:

  • Geriatric patients
  • Patients with unknown cardiovascular disease/risk factors
  • Patients with fluid retention or heart failure

Is Eproxen safe for children and pregnant women? ​

  • Children: Not recommended for those under 18 years old.
  • Pregnant women: Classified as Pregnancy Category C (potential risks to the fetus). Avoid late pregnancy use and breastfeeding due to Naproxen.
