What is Ibupain Suspension?
Ibupain Suspension is a liquid medication containing Ibuprofen, a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID), used to relieve pain, fever, and inflammation.
How does Ibupain work?
Ibuprofen works by reducing the production of prostaglandins, chemicals in the body that cause pain, fever, and inflammation.
What are the indications for Ibupain Suspension?
Symptomatic relief of: Pain and fever in various conditions, including fever caused by immunization. Pain from upper respiratory tract infections, including influenza, bronchitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and sinusitis. Pain from toothache, earache, sore throat, headache, and minor aches and sprains.
Who should not use Ibupain Suspension?
Individuals with: Hypersensitivity to Ibuprofen or other constituents. History of hypersensitivity reactions (asthma, rhinitis, angioedema, urticaria) to aspirin or other NSAIDs. Active or previous peptic ulcer. History of upper gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to NSAIDs therapy. Concomitant use of NSAIDs, including cyclo-oxygenase-2 specific inhibitors. Severe hepatic failure, renal failure, or heart failure.
What are the potential side effects of Ibupain Suspension?
Common: Mild laxative effect, stomach discomfort. Rare: Nausea, stomach pain, rash, itching, worsening asthma, unexplained wheezing, shortness of breath, facial swelling (seek immediate medical attention), black tarry stools, stomach ulcer or bleeding, skin peeling, easy bruising.
How is Ibupain Suspension administered?
Orally (by mouth).
What is the recommended dosage of Ibupain Suspension?
20mg/kg/day in divided doses: Infants (3-6 months): 2.5ml, if necessary, give an additional 2.5ml after 6 hours (maximum 5ml in 24 hours). Infants (6-12 months): 2.5ml three to four times in 24 hours. Children (1-3 years): 5ml three times in 24 hours. Children (4-6 years): 7.5ml (5ml + 2.5ml) three times in 24 hours. Children (7-9 years): 10ml three times in 24 hours. Not recommended for children weighing less than 5kg.

Below 30°C (86°F), protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
