Animal studies have not shown adverse effects, but there has been little to no use of Cetirizine in pregnancy. As with other drugs, it should be avoided during pregnancy unless strictly necessary and under a doctor's supervision.

To date, there are no known interactions with other drugs. Studies with Diazepam and Cimetidine have shown no evidence of interactions.

Occasionally, symptoms of hypersensitivity have been reported. In objective tests of psychomotor function, the incidence of sedation with Cetirizine was similar to placebo.
